Because of privacy laws I will no longer be posting names for publication. I will send you a list of vets so you can send cards out to the adopted Vet. You might want to assign someone to do the job, or at least advertise for someone to send cards out. LODGE ADOPT-A-VET CHAIRMAN

REQUIREMENTS: The person for this job needs to have some time at home to send cards to adopted veterans on holidays, and phone local adopted Vets to check on them and engage in friendly conversation. To see that adopted Vets get certificates of adoption. The Lodge, through fund raisers, can reimburse for postage, phone, stationary supplies, or gifts. The person may want to go out and visit some of these shut-ins. A list of Adoptees with a running total of contact times should be used for reporting on the year end Remembrance report form.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Send them a card on their birthday
Send them a card on holidays
Send a letter, note or post card at any time.
Give them gifts on holidays or birthdays
Take them to dinner at the lodge or elsewhere.
Visit them and just talk.
Phone to check on them and chat.
