Traverse City Golf Outing August 29, 2009
As the official end of summer was approaching, we were off to Traverse City for their annual golf outing. As with the Cadillac and Port Huron golf outings, we must have been in charge of the
weather for once again we were rained out.
All was not lost as everyone still met at the Lodge that evening for hors d’oeuvres, dinner and prizes. Even though unlucky with weather, our luck returned in time for
us to win the special door prize; a beautiful cocktail table inlaid with a golf scene that was donated by one of the area merchants.
It’s always a pleasure for us to be in our own District, spending time with our friends. Once again the Traverse City Lodge did an outstanding job, our thanks goes to the golf
committee chairman, Don Reed and the entire committee. A special thank you goes to Ric Kies, Exalted Ruler and his officers, the club manager and all the volunteers who made this a wonderful event.
Sharon and I are looking forward to a return visit next year with our partners, Dennis and Nancy White, to showcase our golf talents (do not read Sturgis Golf Outing).
