Sturgis Golf July 18, 2009
Member All,
An unofficial visit to Sturgis Lodge to return the trailer that they lent to the State Association for our travels to Portland, Oregon was done on Saturday July 18th.
This was also the day of the Lodges golf outing. The following message was prepared by our 2nd VP designate, Ron Zimmerman:
“At first thought, on a beautiful Saturday morning in Sturgis, we were honored with An impromptu visit from our State President Kevin and First
Lady Sharon. We were having a golf outing with 20 teams at our local Country Club. Phone calls were made to find someone willing to play with our distinguished guests and fill another team. By the end of the day we
were groveling with the Country Club Pro to let us come back next year after Kevin took a wrong turn. Sharon had to be carried from the cart, Kevin had to throw out his socks and a back hoe was required to pull the
golf cart out of the muck. From everyone in Sturgis, Thank-you Kevin and Sharon for sharing the day with us, it was a lot of fun!”
I’m not sure if this is possible, but we would love to return next year and redeem ourselves. It must have been the Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat, (the liquid refreshment that would have been used
by the Ritual team) that led to this disaster.
Thanks to Scott Boland, golf outing chairman, and all the members and friends of Sturgis Lodge for providing us with yet another wonderful and exciting experience.
Kevin M Quinn
State President
