State Presidents Night
Alma Lodge #1400 - January 16,2010
A Presidential Night ……..Wow! Our
travels took us to Alma Lodge #1400 for President’s Night. The evening started with a social hour and a chance to mix and mingle.
As we were seated for dinner the MC, Chuck Oatten, introduced the dignitaries’ present. On this evening it was the Who’s-Who of Elkdom in Michigan. Sharon and I were so pleased to have so many friends support us on this special night.
The meal was top of the line, featuring a one (1) pound pork chop prepared the way the ever famous Embers of Gaylord serves it. Cooked to perfection and served with professionalism. Not to
disappoint the locals I ate all of mine and helped my wife finish hers. Yes, I did this while on a diet, that’s taking one for the team.
The Lodge was most gracious and generous in presenting us with gifts. The jacket I received fit perfectly and made me feel like I belonged on the cover of GQ. Sharon received a beautiful necklace and knew it was chosen especially for her.
To make me feel even more excited, the Lodge brought in a special friend from my past. As they talked about this mystery guest, I sat anxiously waiting their arrival.
When the moment arrived, let’s say I was truly surprised, it was an old girlfriend. As Sharon sat there with jealousy she talked about our past. It was real entertainment for the rest. (you needed to be there to
understand…..the rest of the story.)
Words cannot say enough as I try to thank everyone for a very special night. Sharon and I appreciate all you have done for us. Our success is because of your help and support. So many members from the Alma Lodge are a part of our team ….. that the entire evening felt like we were at home with our friends. Thanks again.
