Southeast District Ritual
Plymouth Lodge #1780
February 5-7, 2010
The Ritual season begins with a trip to the SE District. We were welcomed by the District Chairman, State Secretary, Lou Roos.
The Plymouth Elks Lodge acted as the host Lodge for all of the activities and functions throughout the weekend. We dined Friday evening with a wonderful buffet set-up for our convenience ……...the food, as always, was excellent.
The competition began after dinner at the Local VFW Post about a half mile from the Lodge. Two teams competed that evening setting a high standard for those to follow.
Saturday morning a wonderful breakfast was provided. Then we were off to complete the competition. Once again, excellent Rituals were performed.
On Saturday evening, at the banquet, we were honored to be seated with PGER, Raymond V. Arnold; it was our pleasure to see and talk with such a special friend.
Then the moment of truth was revealed. As we all waited with anticipation, it was a victory for our 2nd Vice President, Keith Alverson. It was his home Lodge and the team he helps coach that walked away with top honors.
Congratulation to all those who participated as you are all winners in our eyes. Laurie Howard was the 11 o’clock toast contest winner and performed her award winning rendition for everyone at the end of the program.
On Sunday, we headed back home knowing that the bar has been set at an extremely high level. We thank both the SE District and the Plymouth Lodge for the wonderful hospitality that was extended to us.
