Mt Clemens Anniversary

Mt.Clemens Anniversary Party
September 19, 2009

Sharon and I started our journey to Mount Clemens Lodge for their 50th Anniversary celebration on Friday, September 19, 2009. We met and dined with our Grand Lodge Inner Guard, Al W. Festa and Joann Boting. It was a wonderful evening to be able to spend time with our dear friends. Al and Joann are very special to us and we look forward to visiting with them whenever we are traveling on that side of the State.

We then headed to Port Huron on Saturday to visit with Past State President, G. Fred Dill and his lovely wife Vi. After traveling with them for two years they just seem like family. We were able to talk about many of the new changes that are taking place in our Association and his input is always appreciated.

Later that evening it was off to Mt.Clemens for the celebration. We were most pleased to be a part of this special moment in their Lodge. The Lodge rolled out the red carpet for all and we were treated to a most wonderful meal.

I wanted to tell them that I didn’t know how their Lodge made it for fifty years with their founders having no foresight; resulting in the scheduling of this special occasion to occur on the weekend of a Notre Dame home game. (ND vs. MSU, ND winning ………what a great weekend)

I know that this Lodge will continue to meet the needs of its Members, their Community, our State Association and our National Order. For it is through their dedication to Elkdom that all the Programs, especially our Charitable Programs, have flourished for the past Fifty years. I am confident of their continued growth and success.

With the wonderful entertainment and friendship that was displayed, a memorable night was had by all. The committee and the members should remain proud of their accomplishments for the past fifty years as well as the evening their provided for all of us. We thank you again for allowing us to be part of your history.
